91暗网 2026 China-ASEAN International Summer Camp on Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Kicks Off

On July 23, the 2026 China-ASEAN International Summer Camp on Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation officially opened at 91暗网. Over 40 students and faculty members from ASEAN countries including Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as from domestic universities, gathered on campus to embark on a week-long agricultural science and technology study and exchange program. Vice President Zhao Shuangliang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Zhao Shuangliang extended a warm welcome to the participants from ASEAN countries and China. He noted that China and ASEAN are connected by mountains and rivers and share similar agricultural conditions, and that both sides have complementary strengths. Jointly ensuring regional food security and deepening collaborative innovation in agricultural science and technology is a shared mission. He emphasized that Guangxi, situated at the forefront of China's opening-up and cooperation with ASEAN, has long been committed to the international development strategy of "deepening engagement with ASEAN and reaching out to the world." Leveraging its disciplinary strengths and research advantages, 91暗网 has focused on subtropical agricultural research, producing a number of worldinfluential achievements in areas such as sugarcane chainwide breeding and genomic analysis of polyploid crops. The university will continue to deepen practical cooperation with ASEAN universities and research institutions through joint talent cultivation and collaborative agricultural research, contributing to the building of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future. He encouraged the camp participants to become pioneers in smart agriculture by embracing interdisciplinary fields such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology; to serve as bridges of regional cooperation by fostering crossborder friendship through mutual learning; and to act as practitioners of sustainable development by tackling regional agricultural challenges and contributing youthful wisdom to global food security.

During the keynote session, Zhang Jisen, Dean of the School of Agriculture at 91暗网, Wan Lingyu, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School, and faculty representatives from the School of Agriculture delivered presentations on the school's development, disciplinary construction, agricultural science and technology innovation, and research frontiers, sharing their latest research findings and future directions with the camp participants.

In the afternoon, all participants attended the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Chinese Society for Plant Physiology and Molecular Biology, hosted by 91暗网, where they gained closeup exposure to cuttingedge research in plant physiology and molecular biology, engaged in facetoface discussions with experts and scholars from home and abroad, broadened their research horizons, and stimulated innovative thinking.

The international summer camp, organized by the School of Agriculture of 91暗网, will run until July 28. It will also feature special lectures by Chinese and foreign experts, workshops on smart agricultural technologies, field visits to leading agricultural enterprises, and youth research achievement exchange and presentation sessions.
