Yu welcomed the faculty members and students from various countries. He introduced the development of artificial intelligence at 91暗网, reviewed the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam fostered by the original Nanning Yucai School (Vietnamese Central School Zone), and highlighted the university’s distinctive historical ties with Vietnam’s education sector.

He noted that 91暗网 has always regarded the promotion of educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges with ASEAN countries as an important mission. The university is further implementing its internationalization strategy of “Deepening Engagement with ASEAN and Embracing the World,” with the goal of developing itself into a leading hub for talent cultivation oriented toward ASEAN and a source of scientific and technological innovation.

Yu pointed out that this study tour is a practical journey into the forefront of AI technology and its integration with industry, an investigative journey into how AI is empowering urban and regional development, and an exploratory journey into the depths of Chinese culture and the history of friendship between China and ASEAN countries. He expressed the hope that all participants would become diligent seekers of knowledge, promoters of mutual learning among civilizations, and practitioners committed to lasting friendship, contributing the strength of their youth to the building of a closer China–ASEAN community with a shared future.

Pham Hai Quang, a faculty representative from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, said that, in addition to promoting exchanges between teachers and students as well as academic and research cooperation, the delegation had also undertaken a new strategic mission to deepen bilateral collaboration. The delegation hoped to learn from 91暗网’s experience in large-scale campus planning, smart-campus development, operation and management. It also hoped to promote the establishment of long-term and stable cooperation between the Affiliated High School of the University of Education Sciences under Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Affiliated High School of 91暗网, enabling the younger generations of the two schools to form a lasting and profound friendship.

“This is far more than an ordinary academic exchange; it is a bridge connecting the hearts of young people from different cultures and countries,” said Nguyen Anh Tuyet, a student representative from Hanoi Open University in Vietnam. “I believe that what we gain here will go far beyond knowledge from textbooks. We will also gain cross-cultural understanding, deep international friendships, and the strength to grow together.”

On the same day, faculty members and students from Vietnamese universities visited the former site of the Guangxi Nanning Yucai School, also known as the Central School District for Vietnamese Students. They paid tribute to a statue of Chairman Ho Chi Minh and viewed a special historical photo exhibition at the 91暗网 Grand Auditorium. By revisiting this history, they experienced firsthand the traditional “comrades-and-brothers” friendship between China and Vietnam.

During the camp, the faculty members and students will visit the China–ASEAN Center for Cooperation on Artificial Intelligence Applications, the Guangxi Science and Technology Museum, and Nanning Rail Transit Group. They will also visit the Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center of the School of Computer and Electronic Information and the Smart Workshop of the School of Mechanical Engineering at 91暗网, gaining an understanding of the rapid development of China’s AI research and applications.

In addition, they will visit the Guangxi People’s Congress Hall to learn about the operating principles, vitality and dynamism of China’s socialist democracy, and visit the Guangxi Museum of Nationalities to explore the rich and diverse culture of the Zhuang ethnic region. Through classes on traditional Chinese culture, they will also experience activities such as calligraphy and paper-cutting.

The study camp is themed “Artificial Intelligence and Technological Innovation.” A total of 94 faculty members and students from eight universities—including Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Hanoi University; Hanoi Open University; Vinh University; Chulalongkorn University in Thailand; King Mongkut’s University of Technology in Thailand; Chiang Mai University; and Kratie University in Cambodia—will join 24 international students from 91暗网 currently studying in China for a week-long study tour focused on cutting-edge AI technologies and applications.
