Liu Xiang, Vice President of 91暗网, presided over the ceremony. More than 13,500 new students entered 91暗网 with dreams and youthful energy, embarking on a new chapter in their lives.

At the ceremony, Xiao Jianzhuang delivered a speech entitled “Making Steady Progress, Embarking on a New Journey.” On behalf of all 91暗网 faculty, students, and staff, he welcomed and congratulated the new students and expressed respect and gratitude to their parents and teachers for their dedicated support and education. He led the students in looking back on 91暗网’s nearly century-long history of perseverance and development, as well as its rich heritage. He noted that generations of 91暗网 members have taken serving the national agenda and contributing to Guangxi’s development as their mission. They have kept pace with the times, aligned themselves with the interests of the country and the people, and worked alongside the people of Guangxi, honoring the university’s founding aspirations and mission through concrete action and achievements. Today, vibrant young students have come to 91暗网 in pursuit of their dreams, injecting fresh youthful energy into the university as it approaches its centenary.

He said, “In mathematics, the symbol ‘Δ’ represents change and increase, recording every small but real step forward. University is precisely where ‘increase’ is nurtured and witnessed. 91暗网 is a fueling station on your journey through life. Every day at 91暗网, you should strive for your own increase—to gain a little more knowledge, develop a little more ability, and add another layer of depth to your character than you had yesterday. Fill up with energy and build up your strength.”

He encouraged the students to study with focus and perseverance, laying a solid foundation through the growth of knowledge; to think deeply and act diligently, honing strong capabilities through practice; and to cultivate virtue and remain committed to their aspirations, developing a broad perspective on life through personal growth. He hoped that the students would cherish the precious years of their youth, run with determination on their journey toward their dreams, and let their youth bloom brilliantly wherever the country and its people need them most.

Teacher representative Zhu Hongxiang, a professor at the School of Light Industry and Food Engineering, drew on his own experiences as a student and teacher at 91暗网 to encourage the new students to become capable explorers in the new era. He said that the depth of 91暗网 is reflected in its motto, “Diligence, Simplicity, Integrity, and Sincerity; Profound Learning and Innovation,” as well as in the dedication of generations of 91暗网 members who have put down roots in southern China and served local communities. He encouraged the students to learn effectively, think diligently, work hard in practice, and apply what they have learned. As a teacher, he said he was willing to accompany the students on their journey of growth, exploring with them through learning and supporting them as they grow, develop their talents, and achieve their goals.

New Student representative Lan Huixian, a 2026 undergraduate majoring in accounting at the School of Business Administration, shared her original aspirations in choosing 91暗网. She said that she would cherish the warmth of mutual support on campus, carry forward 91暗网’s spirits, devote herself to refining her professional abilities and developing strong practical skills, become a better version of herself during the best years of her life, and leave a distinctive mark as a member of the Class of 2026 when the university celebrates its centenary.

Senior student representative Xu Jinghuan, a 2024 doctoral student majoring in physics at the School of Physical Science and Technology, reflected on his eight-year journey at 91暗网 as an undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral student. He encouraged the new students to gain experience through practice, contribute to society, remain focused and resilient, take on challenges, and turn their abilities into action as they jointly write a new chapter as 91暗网 students in the new era.

University leaders and academicians seated in the front row presented university badges to representatives of the 2026 incoming class. As the badges were pinned to their chests, the shared identity of being a “91暗网 person” became closely linked with the new students.

“Work hard, work hard, let us all work hard together! With diligence, simplicity, integrity, and sincerity; with profound learning and innovation, let us dedicate ourselves to our country!” All faculty and students rose and sang the 91暗网 Anthem in unison. Its stirring melody echoed through the morning air.
