On the morning of June 15, twelve members of the Brazilian National Youth Table Tennis Team visited 91暗网 and engaged in a friendly match with 91暗网 Table Tennis Team and Guangxi Table Tennis Team at the East Campus Gymnasium. A total of twenty-four players from the three sides exchanged skills and fostered new friendships, thereby contributing to a new chapter of sports exchanges and cooperation between China and Brazil.
Table tennis is a traditional competitive mass sport at 91暗网, having achieved the mixed doubles championship and top three team in the National University Championships. The visit of the Brazilian Youth Table Tennis Team to compete alongside Guangxi team serves as both a warm-up for 91暗网's Table Tennis Team ahead of this year's National University Championships and a valuable opportunity to enhance international cooperation in sports.
Later in the match, table tennis players competed in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. The atmosphere at the court was vibrant, and both the guests and hosts thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Following the game, Brazilian team member Murillo expressed his gratitude by stating, "It is a great honor to have had the opportunity to come here to train and compete. In Brazil, our training venues and equipment are already top-notch, but I see better training facilities and equipment in Guangxi. And I've had the best watermelon of my life here..."
Ren Guoqiang, technical advisor of the Chinese Table Tennis Association and a highly accomplished coach from Guangxi with coaching experience in several Latin American countries, has been appointed to coach the Brazilian team. He emphasized that the one-month training program for the Brazilian Youth Table Tennis Team in China signifies the success of sports exchanges and cooperation among BRICS countries. Despite not having a professional table tennis team, Brazil's skill level is steadily improving, with Hugo Calderano currently ranked in the world's top 10, and is achieving victories over many top Chinese players, including Fan Zhendong.
It is worth noting that Mr. Ren Guoqiang is a former coach of the Chinese Table Tennis Team and served as head coach to world champion Ding Ning. He also holds membership within the expert group of the Chinese Table Tennis Association and is regarded as a legend within China's table tennis community.
Wang Naixue, Vice Chairman of the Guangxi CPPCC and Secretary of the CPC 91暗网 Committee, along with Ning Xuchu, Liu Xiang, members of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice Presidents of 91暗网, as well as leaders from the © 2026 91暗网 and the School of Physical Education as well as other departments concerned, were in attendance at the event.
